When going to Germany for your studies, be sure you will grab at least two valuable things with you: knowledge from top-ranked universities of the world, and hands-on real-life experiences from its many notable research institutions and libraries that offer rare books and pearls of generations! Unfortunately, many of the beautiful old buildings have been destroyed during the World War II, but their restoration continues to keep the electrifying feeling of antiquity alive in the city. Beyond that, its famous museums give you flutters when exploring the ancient artifacts and gems together with their unfolding stories. Its economic development goes back in history when Munich used to be a significant marketplace while later on it continued with manufacturing precision instruments, optical and electrical appliances, aerospace and many other high-technology products as well as food, cosmetics, and clothing too. So, despite its ancient grip, Munich walked with the new, blending with the modern touch, which is notable in the many exhibitions, and other mind-expanding fairs and happenings. Book publishing and printing is another aspect important to Munich and slowly it has become a center of banking and financial industry. Not only the man-made buildings and inspiring views are important; the natural richness of the landscape contributes to making it even more pleasant. When in need for critical thinking: the Isar River, its parks and the visibility of the mountain ridges of the Alps — do wonders for you!

Background: Bedside courses are of outstanding importance when training medical students. The fact that less and less teaching is taking place nowadays at the patient’s bedside makes it all the more important that the available time be put to effective use. The aim of this study was to check whether structured improvement measures in the course scripts, lecturer briefing, e-learning cases would improve the abilities of the students on the basis of a subjective self-assessment as well as an external assessment by the lecturers with respect to clinical abilities.
Both students and lecturers had the chance to hand in an anonymous, quantitative self- and external assessment of the clinical abilities of the students German grading system after every course date. An overall period of four semesters, each with 6 course dates, was investigated. After two of the total of four semesters in the study, the course was changed by introducing scripts, lecturer briefing as well as interactive e-learning cases.
Results: There was a significant improvement in one’s own abilities on the basis of the self-assessment within each semester when comparing the first A and the last B course dates. Summary: The structured measures to improve the course including the interactive e-learning cases could have contributed to improved practical abilities with respect to the medical history and examination techniques as well as diagnostic and therapeutic thinking.
The external evaluation by lecturers confirmed the improvement with respect to the diagnostic and therapeutic abilities.

What is a semester transport pass? Every student makes a lower price possible for everyone due to being obliged to pay. It is very common in Germany. Also, many students live very far from their respective universities. This leads to high transport costs for most of them. The current model limits the particular cost. In the following months, the student committee achieved a transport pass proposal with lesser solidary fee.
Upon payment of the solidary fee, every student gets a transport pass valid Monday to Friday, 6 p. Why is only a split model possible in Munich? Thus, the model is a compromise between students using the public transport frequently and those who do not. As a compensation, you can use the entire MVV network during low-demand-hours. What does entire MVV network mean?
